When the grid operator curtails your plant, you are entitled to compensation — but the lost energy has to be quantified correctly. Mirox derives it automatically with the settlement methods the regulator prescribes, and gives you the evidence to check the payment.

The problem

Lost energy is hard to prove

Under redispatch / feed-in management, every curtailment event means generation you were prevented from delivering. Quantifying that lost energy — and separating it from weather, faults and market-driven caps — is tedious and error-prone when done by hand.

How Mirox calculates the lost energy

Two layers: live detection from the minute-by-minute metric feed, and a settlement figure computed the way the regulator prescribes.

Detect the curtailment live

From the live metric feed, Mirox compares each plant’s expected output — a clear-sky curve scaled by the plant’s own performance ratio — against what it actually fed in, minute by minute, and records every curtailment episode automatically.

Settle it against a reference period

The billable figure follows the regulator’s reference-period method: the nearest curtailment-free day for that plant supplies its own measured production and measured irradiance, and that ratio yields the lost energy for every quarter-hour of the curtailment.

Irradiance from your sensor — or satellite

Both lanes settle identically: Spitz reads the on-site pyranometer, Spitz light uses satellite irradiance data — so a plant with no irradiance sensor of its own is settled just as well.

Attribute it, then price it

The lost energy is split between grid-ordered and marketer-ordered curtailment, then valued in the revenue view: the BDEW blended price plus the foregone market premium under § 13a EnWG for the grid, contract terms for the direct marketer.

How does Mirox know how much energy was lost?

Do I need an on-site irradiance sensor?

Only for the Spitz method, which reads irradiance from your own pyranometer. Without a sensor, Mirox settles with satellite irradiance data instead (Spitz light) — the same calculation, only the irradiance source differs.

Can I export the results?

Yes — the figures are available as technical and financial PDF/CSV reports you can hand to the grid operator or your accountant.
